Levi World Cup
The International Ski Federation (FIS) awarded the
sustained work carried out at Levi at their meeting in Portoroz, Slovenia on
June 7, 2002. The decision made by FIS indicates the success of Levi and the
Finnish Skiing Association and their resolve to work to bring the World Cup
festivities to Finnish soil.
At the same time, this is great exposure for
rising Finnish Alpine skiers, who are also surely to be in shape on their home
slopes. The Menfs European Cup competitions, the Alpine Lapland Race, organized
at Levi in 2000, was the first international Alpine skiing competition held in
Finland.
At Levi, we have already spent years investing in the development of our
competition area. Nearly 9 million euros have been invested for the construction
of Levifs Black slope, the acquisition of the Levi 2000 gondola lift and
for the competition center restaurant, which opened in 2001. |
